Rainbo Wood Works!

Welcome to Rainbo Wood Works!
Master Inlay Artist Steve Rosenblum has been creating one of a kind inlay’s for the knife & Craft industries for 34 years.  Living in the southwest for 23 years has had a major influence on Steve’s designs.
The material used for these Unusual Intricate Inlays is called Dymondwood.
Dymondwood is Birch veneer that have been dyed, impregnated and laminated with Phenolic resin under Heat and Pressure. The resulting product is Brightly Colored, Water and Scratch Resistant Plywood/Laminate. The finish you see on all the products is the wood itself Buffed to a fine luster, No other finish is applied to the wood!
Mostly you see this material in gunstocks, pistol grips and knife handles, but they are sanded through the face layers of the laminate/plywood to show the different colors of the wood. Steve uses the laminate/plywood Edge to produce his Intricate & Unusual Inlays.
Different colors are laminated together into blocks, sliced, sanded, measured with Digital calipers and glued back together to produce different patterns. This process is done multiple times to get the finished pattern. A mirror is use to aid in figuring the final Book-Matched Designs. The pieces go through multiple stages of sanding before being buffed to their final Lustre.
So there you have it! The Colors of the Rainbow in Wood! Rainbo Wood Works!
